MJBizCon 2021

Completed for Calyx Containers

MJBizCon is the preeminent annual global cannabis business conference and trade show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Calyx’s MJBizCon 2021 presence spanned four booths — the main booth was designed to showcase the value Calyx’s packaging and inventory management system provides from top to bottom. The three other satellite booths highlighted Calyx’s commitments to sustainability, glass artistry and the legacy market, and product quality.


As the Creative Director, Amanda oversaw the overall strategy and direction of the trade show creative for the team including developing new custom labels featured across the booths, designing and manufacturing custom uniforms, producing premium giveaways for attendees, and creating promotional print and digital collateral.


Project Goals:

  • To generate overall awareness of the Calyx Containers brand as a top-tier packaging partner.

  • To highlight the quality and sustainability of Calyx Containers’ manufacturing process and materials.

  • To showcase the range of Calyx’s design capabilities and print decorations offerings.

  • Launch the latest product, the Calyx Jar, into the marketplace.

Creative Direction:

The Calyx MJBizCon 2021 souvenir label design celebrated the infamous lights of Las Vegas, and provided the foundation for all of Calyx's pre-show marketing campaign materials. Original promotional label designs focused on showcasing a wide range of creative capabilities and print finish offerings. Uniforms and giveaways were custom designed to highlight Calyx’s top-tier product quality and generate exhibition-wide buzz.

Calyx Containers’ presence at MJBizCon 2021 generated 2,000 new contacts and saw a 200% increase in social media engagement across platforms.

The QR code lid sticker on container giveaways resulted in more than 650 unique scans.

The Calyx Jar was organically featured in MJBizConBuzz as a Top Product Launch.

Promotional Labels

The Calyx Creative team created a range of promotional labels to showcase versatility in design styles as well as print manufacturing capabilities.

Primary Campaign Creative

The primary campaign's creative design showcased the famous lights of Las Vegas. This design was used for souvenir label designs on giveaway containers and stickers, and digital marketing assets leading up to the trade show.

Calyx Team Uniforms

The Calyx team uniforms were designed to emulate the premium quality of their products. They featured a custom-designed lining pattern for the premium blazer, polo shirt, and satin pocket square. Branded square buttons were added to follow the unique square product design. A clear-pocket tee was designed to mimic the look of The Calyx Jar and held custom stickers, and product highlights were featured on all apparel.

Attendee Giveaways

Attendee giveaways included lanyards, collectable pins, and Calyx-branded face masks. The most coveted giveaway at the MJBizCon 2021 show floor were high-end custom-branded drawstring backpacks, generating conference-wide buzz and demand. These premium backpacks were specifically designed to hold Calyx products and were pre-filled with Calyx's signature containers.
